Hello Diabetic Friends!
It's my belief that when something changes your life it is only right that you speak on it. Here’s my story.
Let's rewind to the beginning. I spent the first 5 years of my diabetic life struggling with my CGM’s falling off, my Dexcom falling off, and my pump always detaching. I was forking out extra money for new ones because I couldn’t get replacements quick enough. My skin was ripping; I had bruises and abrasions near my site location that were bleeding every time I took one off.
My frustration began to deepen, and I felt like nothing worked for me. For 5 years, I was so discouraged with diabetes that all I wanted to do was just give up. I went into a dark place and didn't take good care of myself for about a year. If you thought my A1C was bad the first 5 years, you should have seen it after 6.
One day, about a year and a half ago, a friend recommended ExpressionMed Tape to me. They knew my history and told me I would love it, so I gave it a try because I had nothing else to lose. My mindset was “nothing else has worked and this probably won’t either, but I’ll try it just in case."
When I first looked at the website, I was surprised to see they had tape for every sensor and each tape was SO CUTE. After receiving and using, not only did it end up lasting all 10 days, but when I took it off, I had absolutely no abrasions. My usually sensitive skin surrounding my CGM, was intact! I didn’t believe it, so I kept trying it.
Now, I am a year-and-a-half in on trying them and I don’t ever plan on stopping. They have not only been the best help for keeping my devices on and my skin in great condition, but saved my mentality toward diabetes as well. I finally found something that worked and it made me feel like I could make this whole disease work for me.
Yes, it’s tape, but this tape saved me. It made me see a brighter side to this disease. It made me see a bigger community. It gave me a more positive perspective.
Because of that, I am now partnered with this amazing company and am looking forward to all I can do for this them!
